How Long Do Shoes Last?
Generally, the Nike Vaporfly 4 has a lifespan of approximately 400-500 km, while the Nike Alphafly 3 has a relatively shorter lifespan, around 250-300 km.

The Vaporfly 4’s midsole and outsole have undergone reinforcement, extending its lifespan compared to previous generations. Its outsole only has a thin layer of rubber attached to the edges of the forefoot and heel; the rest of the area uses ZoomX foam in direct contact with the ground. As the number of usage kilometers increases, the ZoomX foam will gradually wear down, and the reduced anti-fatigue performance of the midsole material will also lower its athletic performance.

Although the Alphafly 3’s outsole uses Fast Shot rubber, with its thickness increased to 3mm and wear resistance improved by 50%, its design prioritizes extreme lightness and elasticity, leading to noticeable wear of the ZoomX foam. Some runners report that after about 100 km of wear, the ZoomX foam on the Alphafly 3’s outsole shows significant wear and obvious creasing.
